Description
The Ridart 197 EN‑P integrates a pressure vacuum valve with a stainless‑steel ribbon‑coil end‑of‑line deflagration flame arrester. It protects storage tanks from overpressure and flame entry from external ignition sources while regulating tank pressure to reduce vapor emissions and product loss. Suitable for ATEX zones 0, 1, and 2.
Features
- Single‑device solution: pressure vacuum vent + end‑of‑line deflagration flame arrester
- Stainless steel ribbon‑coil flame‑proof element absorbs and dissipates flame heat
- Standard pressure setting: +35 mbar
- Vacuum setting: −2.5 mbar (−10 mbar for 2″” SM‑type)
- Stage I vapor recovery compliant
- Open breathing during normal operation; valve closes when pressure/vacuum limits are reached, reducing evaporation
- Surface protection system suitable for all ATEX zones (0, 1, and 2)
- NPT female threaded connections for easy installation on standard vent pipes
- Chemical‑suitability options: aluminium, PTFE‑coated, or full stainless steel (SS)
Gas & Vapor Compatibility
- ATEX‑type examination certificate EPT 19 ATEX 3333 X for Explosion Group IIB3 (MESG ≥ 0.65 mm), tested with ethylene.
- Compatible with gases such as ammonia, methane, carbon monoxide, propane, butane, pentane, hexane, heptane, iso‑octane, decane, benzene, xylene, cyclohexane, acetone, ketones, acetates, alcohols, and similar vapours with MESG ≥ 0.65 mm.
- IIC‑marked 197 EN‑P H2 version for hydrogen and gases/vapours with MESG < 0.5 mm (BC‑c rating, tBT = 0 min).
- Burning class BC‑b, tBT = 1 min for IIB3; BC‑c, tBT = 0 min for H2‑type.
- Maximum operational temperature: 60 °C.
Options
- Body material:
- Standard aluminium (for traditional fuels without additives)
- PTFE‑coated (for special fuels, non‑aggressive solvents, and chemical products)
- Full stainless steel (for aggressive solvents, acids, or bases)
- Flame‑arrester group:
- IIB3 (standard 197 EN‑P)
- IIC (197 EN‑P H2 version for hydrogen and very fine‑gap vapours)
Applications
- Underground and aboveground fuel storage tanks requiring Stage I vapor recovery
- Hydrocarbon and chemical storage tanks in petrochemical and pharmaceutical installations
- Fueling stations and industrial tank farms where flame‑transmission risk exists
- Systems requiring combined tank‑pressure control and deflagration‑flame‑arresting protection
Certifications
- Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX)
- EN ISO 16852:2016 end‑of‑line deflagration flame arrester
- UE‑Type Examination Certificate EPT 19 ATEX 3333 X (IIB3)
- Additional IIC rating for hydrogen‑type 197 EN‑P H2 variants
