Description
Ridart 197 EN-P VENT is an end-of-line deflagration flame arrester designed for storage tanks in chemical and pharmaceutical sectors. Compliant with ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and EN ISO 16852:2016, it provides Stage I vapor recovery while preventing flame propagation via a stainless steel ribbon coil element. Suitable for all ATEX zones.
Features
- End-of-line deflagration flame arrester vent for tank vent lines
- Stainless steel ribbon coil element to prevent flame transmission into the tank
- Stage I vapor recovery compliant for hydrocarbon storage tanks
- Protects the tank from external fire while controlling pressure and vapour release
- Suitable for ATEX Zones 0, 1, and 2
- Explosion Group IIB3 (MESG ≥ 0.65 mm); optional H2 model marked IIC for hydrogen and gases with MESG < 0.5 mm
- Burning rating: BC=b, tBT = 1 min (standard); BC=c, tBT = 0 min for H2 model
- Max operational temperature 60 °C
- NPT female threaded connections: 2″”””, 3″”””, 4″”””, and 6″”””
- Available in aluminium, PTFE-coated aluminium, and stainless steel for different chemical duties
Performance
- Explosion group IIB3, tested with ethylene; compatible with gases and vapours with MESG ≥ 0.65 mm
- Example compatible media: ammonia, industrial methane, blast‑furnace gas, carbon monoxide, propane, butane, pentane, hexane, heptane, iso‑octane, decane, benzene, xylene, cyclohexane, acetone, ethyl‑methyl‑ketone, methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, normal propyl acetate, normal butyl acetate, amyl acetate, chloroethylene, methanol, ethanol, iso‑butanol, normal butanol, amyl alcohol, ethyl nitrite
- Burning class BC=b with tBT = 1 min (standard model)
- Burning class BC=c with tBT = 0 min (197 EN‑P H2 model)
- Max operational temperature 60 °C
Options
- Aluminium standard model for traditional fuels without additives
- PTFE-coated model for special fuels, non‑aggressive solvents, or chemical products
- Stainless steel model for aggressive solvents, acids, or bases
- H2 model on request for hydrogen and gases/vapours with MESG < 0.5 mm (contact technical department)
Applications
- End-of-line vent and flame arrester on storage tanks and vessels in chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical plants
