Description
The FIG 710 and 710MO are normally closed solenoid valves designed to prevent accidental siphoning from a tank if a downstream pipe fractures. The valve opens upon receipt of an electronic signal and closes automatically when removed. Installed in horizontal pipelines in the upright vertical position to ensure proper function.
Features
- Normally closed, hung piston design
- Zero pressure differential operation
- Integral thermal relief — relieves expansion pressure in the opposite direction of flow
- Continuous duty Class H coil, standard 120V/60Hz; optional voltages available
- Minimum operating temperature: −40°F
- Recommended for liquids with maximum viscosity of 60 centistokes
- 100 mesh strainer recommended at valve inlet
- Install in horizontal pipeline in upright vertical position
- Cast bronze body; FKM and PTFE seals; brass piston (3/4″”–2″”) or aluminum piston (3″”)
- Solenoid housed in integral watertight explosion-proof shell
- NEMA 3, 4X, 7, and 9 enclosure rating; Groups C and D
- 710MO: manual override for operation during power outage — available 3/4″” to 2″”
Applications
- Dispensing side of fuel system pipelines on aboveground storage tanks
- Anti-siphon protection against downstream pipe fracture or leak
- Fuel transfer systems at service stations, fleet fueling, and bulk storage facilities
- Hazardous location installations requiring explosion-proof solenoid valves
