Description
Viking Pump 4224A Series™ is a cast iron internal gear pump designed for handling viscous, temperature-sensitive, and solidifying fluids. Standard jacketing on the head and bracket surrounds the seal and pump internals, enabling rapid heating with steam or hot oil to melt ambient-temperature solids and maintain fluid at operating viscosity. The positive displacement internal gear principle delivers a consistent, non-pulsating flow rate across a viscosity range of 28 to 2,000,000 SSU (1 to 440,000 cSt).
Features
- Integral jacket chambers on head and bracket for rapid heating via steam or hot oil
- Positive displacement internal gear design — constant flow rate across wide viscosity range
- Rotatable bearing housing for easy rotor end clearance adjustment for viscosity or wear compensation
- Axial rotor thrust controlled by double-row ball bearing or tapered roller bearings; bushing provides secondary radial shaft support
- Footed cast iron bracket for rigid mounting, extending seal and bearing life
- Pressure relief valve standard (plain head / less-valve option available)
- Rotatable casing for flexible porting arrangement
- Three-year limited warranty (Viking Universal Product Line)
